The bandage as a metaphor
We see a bandage as an ordinary daily medical tool which heals our wounds and protects the body.
For me there's a resemblance to the idea of a home.
Just as a home, the bandage adopts our shape, supports us but it can also suffocate.
This duality was the starting point for these knittings. The bandage is translated in a graphical intarsia knitting or by use of contrasting materials, which gives the knittings a changing tactile experience.
